Creating A Home Gym Is Not That Complicated

It is easier for some people to work out at home, and creating a home gym is not that difficult. You don’t have to drive to the club, go to a crowded gym, and dress fashionably—no need to wipe down the equipment from the previous user.

Your shower is private, and there is no waiting when you work out at home. People choose the best equipment for home exercise program as part of their home design so that the entire family can work out and stay healthy.

When you were a kid, jumping rope was a fun activity. As an inexpensive addition to your home gym, a jump rope takes up little space. Your legs will burn in muscles you were not aware you had.

Two great exercise balls you can add to your home gym are the kettlebell and the fitness ball. Kettlebells are weighted balls that offer you weight lifting and cardio workouts at the same time. Originally from Russia circa 1700, the kettlebell is made from cast iron. By swinging and lifting them, you can find several workouts. The ever-popular fitness ball is especially good at targeting the abdominals. By keeping you unstable, they engage the abs in ways you can not achieve with crunches.

Dumbbells come in different weights. Use heavier weights for the legs with two different sets for the arms. You can do chest flies, lunges, curls, presses, tricep extensions, squats, and calf raises to exercise your muscles. If you don’t want to buy weights, you can make them out of 750ml plastic bottles filled with water, equivalent to 1.6 pounds, a good starting weight. You can carry them on your walks for a little more of a workout.

You can also make your barbells out of small pillows about the size of your hand. Fill them with 1kg or 2.2 pounds of sand, wheat, or rice and glue them around a 5 foot 5-inch steel bar. Bricks are another option, or if you want more weight, you can use a cinder block on each end. Cinder Blocks typically weigh about 20 pounds each, so this is a big jump in weight.

No need for a StairMaster when you can use the stairs in your house. Running up and then down the stairs for approximately 10 minutes offers a great cardio workout. Exercise DVDs can be used to rotate through your exercise program. Buying used ones online will save you money, or you can trade with your friends. There is no need to use equipment all the time, and you can also do floor exercises.

Before starting an exercise program, check with your doctor to make sure you don’t have any restrictions. Going from a couch potato to exercising regularly needs to be done gradually to allow your body to get accustomed to it. To lose extra pounds you get from your holidays, a home gym is a right addition to your home. Fitness can keep you mentally healthy, as well as physically in shape.
